SC clarifies 16 May notice
The Supreme Court administration on Tuesday clarified its notice that barred reporting on cases in the trial stage, reports UNB.
The new notice, signed by Supreme Court registrar general Jakir Hossain, said that reports tarnishing the image and dignity of the court and influence the trial proceedings are unexpected.
On 16 May, the top court issued a notice requesting the media to refrain from reporting sub-judice matters.
The Law Reporters Forum and various organisations protested against the decision and urged authorities concerned to withdraw it.
