Man detained with 1kg gold at Dhaka airport
The Airport Armed Police (AAP) detained a passenger from Dubai along with eight gold bars weighing around 928 grams from the 2-strorey parking of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday.
The arrested individual is Abdul Matin.
Md Alamgir Hossain, additional superintendent of police of the AAP, said Abdul Matin was roaming around the two-storey parking area of the airport on Friday evening.
Finding his movements suspicious, members of the AAP challenged him at around 6:00pm. Searching his body, they recovered the eight gold bars, kept hidden inside a secret pocket, said Alamgir.
