Relatives visit Khaleda at hospital with her favourite dishes
Relatives of Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia went to meet her at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Sunday.
Six family members went to meet the three-time prime minister, who is serving her jail sentence in a graft case since 8 February 2018.
BNP chairperson’s media wing officer Shairul Kabir Khan told Prothom Alo that the six relatives went to meet Khaleda Zia at the hospital around 1:30pm.
The relatives are Khaleda Zia’s younger son’s wife Sharmila Rahman with her two daughters, Khaleda's younger brother Shamim Iskander, his wife Kaniz Iskander and their son.
The BNP chairperson was taken to BSMMU after falling ill on 1 April. She was at BSMMU during Eid-ul-Fitr too.
Shairul said they submitted a list of 17 people to the authorities to meet Khaleda Zia but only six were allowed.
They took several of the BNP chairperson's favourite dishes, he added.
