‘Rohingyas’ gun down Jubo League leader in Teknaf
A Jubo League leader was shot dead reportedly by Rohingyas at Jadimura in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on Thursday night, reports UNB.
The victim, Omar Faruk, 30, was president of ward No 9 unit of Jubo League and son of Abdul Monaf.
Pradip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Teknaf police station, said local people spotted the bullet-hit body of Omar Faruk and informed police about it around 11:00pm.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital for autopsy.
Osman Goni, elder brother of the Faruk, alleged that a group of Rohingyas picked Faruk up from near his house and gunned him down at a nearby hill.
Police are investigating the incident, said the OC.
