NGO worker hacked dead in Cox’s Bazar
An NGO worker was hacked to death by miscreants at Haldiapalong union in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Mazharul Islam of Pirganj Colony Haat in Rangpur.
Manjur Alam, union parishad chairman, said on information locals recovered Mazharul’s body around 8:30 at night from Moricha Guraiardip area and took him to Ukhiya Health Complex where physicians declared him dead.
His name and birthplace were known from the identity card he was carrying, as locals found some papers of BRAC, he added.
Md Abul Mansur, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya police station, said the body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
