Trader ‘kills self’ being failed to repay loans
A trader reportedly committed suicide after failing to repay loans taken from locals in East Barandipara of the district town early Thursday.
The deceased is Ranjit, 48, son of Ramni Haldar of the area, reports news agency UNB.
Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model police station, said Ranjit had taken a good sum of money from locals in loan.
Although his business was not running well, the lenders had been putting pressure on him to repay the loan.
Being unable to bear the pressure, he hanged himself from the ceiling, the OC said, adding that they recovered the body in the morning and sent it to General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
