Mentally challenged woman raped, man arrested

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man from his father-in-law's house at Harashpur in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Friday on allegation of raping a mentally challenged elderly woman.

The arrested is Md Jashim Mia, 30, of the area, reports UNB.

A RAB team, led by additional superintendent of police Rafiuddin Mohammad Jobayer, conducted a drive in the village and arrested Jashim, said a press release of RAB-14.

A rape case was filed against Jashim under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act on 11 September.
