Offices resume after Eid vacation

All the public and private offices reopened today after three days of holiday on the occasion of the Eid-ul Azha, the second biggest Muslim religious festival, celebrated on 1 August across the country.

Employees of all the public, semi-government, autonomous and private organisations were seen joining their respective office work.

The public holiday was announced from 31 July to 2 August on the Eid-ul Azha.

But, as per the decision taken in cabinet meeting on 13 July last, the government employees had to stay at their respective working places during this Eid vacation.

Meanwhile, the apparel sector workers also returned to their work today after three days of Eid holiday as the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) asked the workers not to leave the capital during the Eid vacation.
