Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) on Thursday expressed deep shock at the death of the country's successful businessman Latifur Rahman.
“To us, Latifur Rahman, the chairman and CEO of Transcom Group, was an example of successful leadership and a great organiser,” BGCCI president Omar Sadat said in a statement.
He was a refined gentleman and always treated everyone with honour and respect, said Sadat adding that the departure of Latifur Rahman is an irreplaceable damage for this country.
The BGCCI president also said, “We’ll always appreciate his undoubted leadership, his energy and his positive attitude towards the development of Bangladesh’s economy.”
"On behalf of all the BGCCI members, the executive board and the staff, we would like to express our sympathy at the death of Latifur Rahman and our deepest sympathy to his friends and family members," he said.
Latifur Rahman, one of the leading industrialists of Bangladesh, passed away at his village home in Cumilla on Wednesday.
