Shakib banned for four matches in DPL?

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for four matches in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) for his inappropriate behaviour with the umpire on Saturday centering a leg before wicket (LBW) appeal.

A source from Mohammedan cricket club has confirmed Prothom Alo the development.

Shakib Al Hasan kicked and broke the stumps at a DPL match between Abahani and Mohammedan on Friday.

Later, Shakib uprooted the stumps once the umpire halted the match due to rain in the following over and also locked into altercation with Abahani coach Khaled Mahmud.

Shakib on Friday evening apologised for the incident at a Facebook post.

"I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won't be repeating this again in the future. Thanks and love you all,” he wrote.
