Begum Rokeya University admission tests deferred

The admission tests of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) for first year (honours), BSc (Engineering) and BBA programmes for the 2019-20 academic sessions have been postponed by a day due to cyclone Bulbul.

“The central admission test committee of the university took the decision in its seventh meeting held at administrative building with vice-chancellor Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah in the chair,” a press release said on Sunday night.

The four-day admission tests began at the BRUR on Sunday with participation of 20,792 admission-seeker students against 195 seats under the Faculty of Arts in Unit-A in four shifts.

As per the rescheduled routine, the admission tests for students of other groups of B, C, D and F Units will be held on 12, 13, and 14 November in place of 11, 12 and 13 November keeping a gap on 11 November due to cyclone Bulbul.

Now, 23,092 students will appear in the admission tests against 375 seats under the Faculty of Social Science in Unit-B on 12 November.

Some 9,875 students will appear in the admission tests against 245 seats under the Faculty of Business Studies in Unit-C and 8,190 students against 120 seats under the Faculty of Life and Earth Science in Unit-F on 13 November.

Besides, 8,860 students will take part in the admission tests against 280 seats under the Faculty of Science in Unit-D and 6,915 students against 100 seats under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in Unit-E on 14 November next.

“The first shift of the admission tests will be held from 9:00am to 10:00am, second shift from 11:00am to 12:00pm, third shift from 1:30pm to 2:30pm and fourth shift from 3:30pm to 4:30pm daily as per the previously scheduled routine,” the release added.

A total of 77,724 admission-seeker students have registered them for taking part in the admission tests for 1,315 seats in 21 departments of six faculties with some 59 students against each of the seats.
