IIER building's foundation stone laid at IU
The foundation stone of Institute of Islamic Education and Research (IIER) building was laid at Islamic University in Kushtia on Saturday.
Vice-chancellor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari laid the foundation stone adjacent to the university lake around 2:00pm.
Among others, IU pro-vice-chancellor M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer M Selim Toha, acting registrar SM Abdul Latif and former proctor and syndicate member M Mahbubar Rahman were present among others.
The building will have classrooms, teachers' rooms, a guestroom and a conference room, IIER director M Maher Ali said.
Alimuzzaman Totul, the university's chief engineer, has already finalised the design for the whole project, he added.
