Youth delegation meets Modi

Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with members of Bangladesh youth delegation at his office in New Delhi, reports UNB.

Earlier, the 100-member Bangladesh youth delegation met Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj at her office, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

The youth delegation left Dhaka on Saturday on an eight-day visit to different Indian cities like New Delhi, Agra and Mumbai.

They are witnessing prominent cultural and historical sites of India, business centres, apart from holding interactions with Indian youths in educational, business, IT and technological institutions.

This year marks the sixth year of the Bangladesh youth delegation's visit to India.

The first such Bangladesh youth delegation visited India in 2012, and this programme has been continuing since then every year.

Members of the 2018 delegation include 52 young Bangladeshi women and 48 young men, drawn from different regions of the country, diverse backgrounds and educational institutions of Bangladesh.

They comprise physicians, artistes, sportspersons, journalists, engineers, models, radio jockeys, social workers, humanities and science students, among others.
