500 more seats for MBBS course
The government has decided to increase MBBS course seats by 500 from the academic session of 2018-2019.
The health and family affairs ministry, on Wednesday, took this decision at a meeting presided over by health minister Mohammed Nasim.
There are presently 3,318 seats for the MBBS course in 31 public medical colleges.
According to the ministry, the number of seats in the MBBS course was not increased for over a decade. The government has decided to increase the seats to ensure medical services at district and sub-district level health complexes.
