IU teacher served show cause notice

IU

The Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia issued a show cause notice to one of its teachers on Friday for violating rules and regulations, reports UNB.

Vice-chancellor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari issued the notice to law department's assistant professor M Sazzadur Rahman Titu.

The teacher reportedly took three examinations of an evening course student on Wednesday at the store room of the department in absence of an invigilator.

Titu has been asked to respond within seven working days, IU said in a media statement in the morning.

Acting registrar SM Abdul Latif told UNB that they formed a three-member committee, headed by law faculty dean Reba Mondol, to investigate the incident.

The probe body was asked to submit its report within seven working days.

Titu rejected the allegation, claiming that he was not on the campus on that day and was unaware of any such incident.

VC Askari told UNB that legal action will be taken against Titu after getting the probe body report.
