2 men killed in Savar

Two men were killed in separate incidents in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Saturday night and early Sunday, reports UNB.

In Kaichabari of Ashulia, a man was hacked to death allegedly by his younger brother on Saturday night over land related dispute.

The deceased is Abu Taher, 40.

Taher's younger brother Jahed Ali swooped on him while he was sleeping and hacked him with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot, said Sheikh Rezaul Haque Dipu, officer-in-charge of Ashulia police station.

Later, Jahed surrendered to police, he added.

Another man was shot to death allegedly by robbers in Durgapur Sarker bari of Ashulia early Sunday.

The deceased is Abul Sarker, 55, a businessman and son of a certain Halim Sarker.

A gang of robbers numbering 10-12 stormed into the house of Abu Sarker breaking window grills and held the dwellers hostage at gunpoint, said Sheikh Rezaul Haque Dipu.

Being obstructed by Abu Sarker, Robbers opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, they looted gold ornaments and cash from the house.

The gang members also took away his licensed pistol.

On information, a team of police visited the spot and sent the body to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
