At Kandapara village, the mobile court also fined bridegroom Rezaul Karim, 31, and bride's father Tk 5,000 each, saying they would have to serve one month in jail if they fail to pay the penalty.

The mobile court conducted a drive at Dumur Golapi village around 8 pm and fined the bridegroom - Nur Nabi, 21 - and slapped the same penalty on him.

Later, the mobile court, led by Anisur, went to Khalishakura village and halted the bid to marry the class-X girl off to Sihab Ali, 20.
