73 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hrs

A total of 73 people have been hospitalized with dengue fever across the country in the following 24 hours since Monday morning.

Of them, the capital city reported 42 dengue cases while the remaining ones were from different districts.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the disclosure on Tuesday noon, saying that the report was prepared as per data collected until morning.

Apart from Dhaka, some 31 people have been admitted to hospitals in different districts. Cox’s Bazar registered the highest 26 dengue cases while the remaining cases from Chattogram and Mymensingh.

Some 141 dengue patients – 107 in Dhaka and 34 in other districts -- are currently undergoing treatment at hospitals across the country.

A total of 1,477 people have so far been admitted to hospitals in the current year while one of them succumbed to the disease.
