The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday approved a charge sheet against 11 people, including former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, for their reported embezzlement of Tk 40 million, reports UNB.

Confirming the decision taken at a meeting of the anti-graft body, ACC's public relation officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said the former chief justice was cleared in one case but included in the charge sheet of another which will be submitted to court soon.

On 10 July, the ACC filed a case against 11 people, including the ex-chief justice and former Farmers Bank managing director and CEO AKM Shameem accusing them of accumulating illegal wealth and plundering Tk 40 million by abusing power.
