ACC detains 2 education officials for bribery

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday detained two officials of Thakurgaon District Primary Education Office (DPEO) on charge of taking bribe.

The arrestees are Anisur Rahman, assistant primary education officer of the district and office assistant Zulfiker Ali.

Tipped off, a team of ACC from Dinajpur district office conducted a drive at the DPEO and caught them red-handed while taking Tk 50,000 as bribe from one Zafarullah with the promise of allowing him in the viva voce of Primary Teachers Recruitment test, said Abu Hena Ashiqur Rahman, deputy-director of Dinajpur District Coordinator Office.

The ACC team also conducted another drive at the house of Anisur Rahman located at Hazipara in the district town.
