ACC grills BASIC Bank ex-chairman Bacchu again

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday once again interrogated former BASIC Bank chairman Sheikh Abdul Hye Bacchu in connection with the embezzlement of huge amount of money from the bank, reports UNB.

Abdul Hye Bacchu fell sick during the interrogation at 4:00pm for some time when ACC medical team gave him treatment.

ACC director Iqbal Hossain interrogated Bacchu between 9.45am and 4.45pm, UNB quoted ACC's public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya as saying.

With the today's interrogation, the anti-graft body quizzed Bacchu for the fourth time.

According to an inquiry of Bangladesh Bank, about Tk 45 billion was swindled out from Basic Bank during six years while Sheikh Abdul Hye Bachhu served as its chairman.

The ACC filed 56 cases with three police stations in the capital accusing 156 individuals, including 26 bank officials, in September of 2015.
