Govt seeks report on US-Bangla aircrafts’ condition

The civil aviation and tourism ministry on Thursday asked the US-Bangla Airlines to submit a report to it after checking all of its aircraft, reports UNB.

Civil aviation and tourism secretary M Mohibul Haque told UNB that they sent a letter to the airlines authorities asking them to submit a report as soon as possible after checking all of their planes.

The ministry came up with the move following the emergency landing of a US-Bangla aircraft at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Wednesday following a glitch in its nose landing gear.

The Cox's Bazar-bound flight was forced to make the emergency landing as its nose landing gear got locked and did not extend.

On 12 March last, at least 51 people, including 26 Bangladeshi nationals, were killed as a US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed and burst into flames at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of the Himalayan country of Nepal.
