Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has decided to restore mobile network along its border with India.

The commission has sent a directive in this connection to the local operators on Tuesday night.

The operators were asked to shut network for "security" reasons on 9 December amid fears a new citizenship law passed by its giant neighbour India could prompt an influx of migrants.

Several high officials of the operators seeking anonymity said that they were working to reactivate the network along the border.
