Police on Monday detained a woman after conducting a drive in Ashulia of Savar which they called a militant den.

The law enforcers started the drive at 5:30pm and it lasted for around three hours.

During the raid, the police detained a woman named Shaila Sharmin, 22. She is the wife of Jahangirnagar University student Md Tanvir.

Tanvir is IT chief of the militant outfit ‘Neo-JMB’, said Dhaka district police super Maruf Hossain Sarder at a press briefing around 8:30pm.

Bomb-making material, a drone and petrol bomb were recovered during the drive, the law enforcers added.

Maruf said Tanvir is still on the run.

A case would be filed soon in this connection after interrogating detained Sharmin, he added.
