A motorcycle rider was killed in a road crash Tuesday afternoon at Khanjapur Battala area of Gournadi upazila on the Dhaka-Barishal highway, reports news agency UNB.
The deceased was identified as Yasin Jamaddar, 34. He is from Piplita village in Jhalakathi Sadar upazila.
Gournadi highway police sergeant Mahabub Islam said he was going to Jhalakathi on a motorcycle from Dhaka.
“On his way he was hit by an unidentified truck coming from the opposite direction at the Khanjapur Battala area on Dhaka-Barishal highway and died on the spot,” he added.
Mahabub Islam further said the body of the deceased has been sent to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
