Fire breaks out at a garment factory in Chattogram

A massive fire broke out at a garment factory in the Bayezid Bostami area of Chattogram port city on Tuesday morning, reports UNB.

The fire started around 7.45am at Anwara Garments factory, officials of fire brigade and civil defence said.

"Some 11 fire tenders rushed to the spot but it took over two hours to contain the blaze around 10.30am," said Md Anisur Rahman, the deputy director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence.

However, no casualties were reported. The authorities are yet to ascertain the extent of damages.

"A probe has been ordered to find out the exact cause of the fire," said the official.
