Madaripur road accident kills 2

Two persons were killed and one injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Barishal highway in Shimultola of Rajoir upazila of Madaripur district Thursday morning, reports BSS.

The deceased were identified as Sohel Munshi, 38, of Mithapur village and Selim Khalifa, 45, of Uttar Dudhkhali village of the district.

Madaripur highway police sources said the accident occurred in the area around 7:00am when the driver of a human hauler, locally called ‘Nosimon,’ lost control and hit the rear end of a stationary truck beside the road.

The accident left human hauler driver Sohel and passenger Selim dead on the spot.

Injured passenger Nur Mohammad was taken to Rajoir upazila health complex.

Mustafapur highway police camp in-charge Din Mohammad told the news agency that the bodies were kept in sadar hospital for autopsies.

The vehicles were also seized by the police from the spot, he said.
