Road accident claims 6 lives in Habiganj

Six people died as a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on in Habiganj’s Shayestaganj.

The accident took place at Nosrotpur gate area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at around 7:45am on Monday.

The victims could not be identified immediately.

Police said the auto-rickshaw bound to Olipur from Shayestaganj collided with the truck. Five passengers and the driver of the autorickshaw died on spot. Among the deceased, four were men and two women.

Police from Shayestaganj highway police station and fire service officials reached the spot after the accident and sent the bodies to Habiganj sadar hospital.
