Twenty one more patients died of coronavirus and 1,251 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours as of Tuesday.
Additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana made the disclosure at an online briefing on Tuesday.
She also said as many as 370 people have died in the country so far while 25121 people test positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the government has extended general holiday till 30 May to tackle coronavirus which has already claimed 370 lives.
The DGHS official also said as many as 4,993 people have recovered so far.
Nasima Sultana said a total of 8,449 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, 1,251 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.
A total of 193,645 samples have been tested so far.
Bangladesh first reported death from coronavirus on 18 March while the first case was confirmed on 8 March.
