Bangladesh receives more 781,440 AstraZeneca doses from Japan

Bangladesh has received more 781,440 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from Japan.

The consignment of vaccine doses arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday afternoon by a flight of Cathay Pacific, reports UNB.

With this shipment, the total amount of dispatched vaccines from Japan stands at over 2.4 million as of Saturday. This delivery is a part of Japan's commitment to supplying over three million doses of vaccine to Bangladesh under COVAX facility.

Bangladesh ambassador to Japan Shahabuddin Ahmed was present at the airport during vaccine dispatch from Japan's Narita International Airport on Friday.
