Sixteen more patients died of coronavirus and 1,617 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours as of Wednesday.
Additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana made the disclosure at an online briefing on Wednesday.
She also said as many as 386 people have died in the country so far while 26,738 people test positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the government has extended general holiday till 30 May to tackle coronavirus which has already claimed 386 lives.
The DGHS official also said as many as 5,207 people have recovered so far.
Nasima Sultana said a total of 10,207 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, 1,617 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.
A total of 203,852 samples have been tested so far.
Bangladesh first reported death from coronavirus on 18 March while the first case was confirmed on 8 March.
