Nineteen more patients died of coronavirus and 1,162 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours as of Wednesday.
Additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana made the disclosure at an online briefing on Wednesday.
She also said as many as 269 people have died in the country so far while 17,822 people test positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the government extended general holiday till 16 May to tackle coronavirus which has already claimed 269 lives.
Nasima Sultana said as many as 3,341 patients have recovered from coronavirus so far.
She said a total of 7,900 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, 1162 were diagnosed with coronavirus.
On the previous day, a total of 6,773 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, as many as 969 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.
Bangladesh first reported death from coronavirus on 18 March while the first case was confirmed on 8 March.
