Twenty two more patients died of coronavirus and 1,773 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours as of Thursday.
Additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana made the disclosure at an online briefing on Thursday.
She also said as many as 408 people have died in the country so far while 28,511 people test positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the government has extended general holiday till 30 May to tackle coronavirus which has already claimed 408 lives.
The DGHS official also said as many as 5,602 people have recovered so far.
Nasima Sultana said a total of 10,262 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of them, 1,773 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.
A total of 214,114 samples have been tested so far.
Bangladesh first reported death from coronavirus on 18 March while the first case was confirmed on 8 March.
