A total of 19 cattle markets in the capital will start selling sacrificial animals from 17 July ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

10 markets will be set up in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) while nine in Dhaka North city Corporation (DNCC) area.

Sources at the city corporations said buyers are allowed to sell sacrificial animals in a total of 19 makeshift markets in Dhaka from 17 to 21 July.

Along with these markets, cattle will be sold at DNCC's Gabtoli and DSCC's Sarulia permanent markets.

In a notification on Monday, the fisheries and livestock ministry asked the people to purchase the cattle online to prevent the Covid-19 transmission.
