DU proctorial body members 'attacked by outsiders'

Four members of Dhaka University's proctorial committee have allegedly come under attack on DU campus by some outsiders.

The incident took place in front of Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) around 7:00pm on Saturday.

According to sources at the campus, the proctorial committee members and some followers of local ward councilor, Asaduzzaman Asad, locked into a scuffle over sitting on chairs.

At one point, the councilor's followers allegedly attacked the proctorial members.

Asaduzzaman is the councilor of Dhaka metropolitan (south) ward no. 21.

DU authorities had taken legal and administrative steps over the incident and filed a case with Shahbagh police station in this connection, DU proctor Golam Rabbani told Prothom Alo.

We asked the law enforcement to identify the attackers and take legal action, he said.
