2 sisters ‘raped’ in Thakurgaon, 5 held

Two sisters were allegedly raped by some youths at Mahalbari in Ranishankoil municipality area of Thakurgaon on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The victims are the resident of South Sandharai village of Ranishankoil upazila.

Police detained five people in this connection from different parts of the upazila on Wednesday.

The arrestees are Zahirul, 28, Rubel, 26, Upen Deb, 28, Fazlu, 35, and Milon, 25. All of them are from in the upazila.

Abul Mannan, officer-in-charge of Ranishankoil police station, said Zahirul along with other four took the two girls -- one aged about 20 and another 15 -- to the house of Upen where they raped them in turns on Tuesday afternoon.

The victims filed a case with the police station the following day.

After getting complaint police arrested the alleged rapists.

The victims were sent for medical tests, the OC said.
