8th grader commits suicide as parents stop him from playing mobile games
An eighth grader allegedly killed himself on Sunday in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj as his parents stopped him from playing mobile games, reports UNB.
The deceased student is Rafi. He lived in the upazila’s Rajman village.
Dipak Kumar Das, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ullapara police station, said Rafi consumed excessive amounts of poisonous pills on Sunday night when his parents scolded him for playing games on mobile phone and took away the phone from him.
He died on the way to hospital, said the police.
The body was handed over to the family without any autopsy, said the OC.
