AL leader stabbed to death

Miscreants stabbed a union Awami League leader to death at Beragari village in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogura on Saturday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Hakim, 55, of Beragari village in Gohail Union. He was a leader of the ruling party’s union unit.

Locals said miscreants attacked Hakim and stabbed him indiscriminately with sharp weapons while he was going home from Khadas bazar at 9:00pm and fled the spot.

Later, locals took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Azim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Shajahanpur Police Station, said they are trying to arrest the miscreant soon.

Asked about the incident, Gohail Union Parishad Chairman Ali Atwar Fozu, said the reason behind the murder could not be known yet.
