Jail guard detained while entering jail with yaba

A jail guard was detained with 187 yaba pills at the main gate of Kashimpur central jail in Gazipur on Thursday night, police said.

Shahinul Islam, 28, from Badhanagar, Dhamrai, a jail guard of Kashimpur central jail-2, was detained around 9:30pm last night.

Police and jail sources said upon suspicion guards at the main gate of the jail frisked Shahinul’s body and found the yaba tablets inside his undergarments. Police detained him around 10:30pm.

Several other jail guards were arrested before for delivering drugs inside the jail.

A narcotics case will be filed against Shahinul, said Konabari police station assistant sub-inspector Al Momin.

Earlier, on 29 April night, another jail guard, Pintu Mia, 28, was detained for delivering 328 yaba pills inside the Kashimpur central jail-1.
