The court has accepted the charge sheet against the actress Pori Moni and two others in a case filed under Narcotics Control Act at Gulshan police station in Dhaka.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court magistrate Satyabrata Sikder on Sunday accepted the charge sheet.

At the same time, the court has granted bail to the accused in this case. Earlier, Pori Moni appeared before the court at around 1:30pm though she was asked to appear at 10:00am.

During the hearing, lawyer Nilanjana Rifat said, Pori Moni didn’t violate the bail the court granted her until the submission of inquiry report of the case. So may she be granted bail again.

However, the chief public prosecutor of Dhaka Metropolitan Session judge court Abdullah Abu opposed the bail petition.

The public prosecutor commented all will have to abide by law and appear before the court on time. Besides, LSD, crystal meth and foreign liquor were recovered in Pori Moni’s possession.

Following his comments, lawyer Nilanjana Rifat said in court that “Sir (judge), such a mistake will never be made again.”

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a drive on Pori Moni’s residence in Dhaka on 4 August. Later, she was shown arrested under Narcotics Control Act at Gulshan police station.
