Shop-owner arrested for 'selling fake COVID-19 certificates, others'

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a man for allegedly selling fake certificates at his shop in Cumilla on Sunday afternoon.

The arrestee, Morshed Alam, 32, from Jafrabad village in Debidwar is the owner of Bismillah Enterprise at Chandina Bazar in the district.

Morshed sold fake COVID-19 certificates and other documents, according to the law enforcement.

On prior information, members of RAB-11 crime prevention company of Cumilla, raided the shop and seized forged reports, academic certificates, testimonial, NID and seals along with computer, printer, scanner, modem, mobile phones and cash.

A case has been filed with Chandina police station in connection with the forgery, said captain Lt Khandaker Saiful Islam of RAB-11.
