Two held with Indian currency in Chapainawabganj

An anti-smuggling taskforce arrested two men in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj late on Monday night and seized addictive substances and Indian currencies from their possession, UNB reports.

The arrestees are identified as Liton, 26, son of Omar Farooq, and Liton, 25, son of Mojibur Rahman, the 59 battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said in a release on Tuesday morning.

The team comprising BGB personnel, police, Ansar and an executive magistrate raided a store in Kansat Bazaar area of the upazila on Monday night and made the bust, according to the release.

Two bottles of Indian cough syrup phensedyl, often used as an addictive substance, a dagger, an air gun and 2,510 Indian rupees were seized from the possession of the accused, the BGB said.
