Vagrant handed over to police for harassing college girl

People handed over a vagrant to the police for harassing a college girl at Shabagh intersection in the capital on Saturday around 11:00am.

The accused, Saddam Hossain, a vagrant, claimed to be from Kishorganj, but the police could not confirm this.

Shabagh police station officer in-charge Mawdud Hawlader told Prothom Alo that the victim was a first year college student. While she was passing the flower stalls at Shahbagh intersection around 11:00am, Saddam grabbed her from behind.

Hearing her scream, people from the surrounding shops came to the scene and caught Saddam. Later he was handed over to the Shahbagh police station, he added.

Police said a case was being prepared.
