Youth arrested under Digital Security Act for criticising AL leadersUNB

Police on Tuesday arrested a young man from Bularati village of Satkhira sadar upazila on allegation of criticising leaders of ruling Bangladesh Awami League on Facebook, reports news agency UNB.

The arrested was identified as Kamal Hossain, 25, a local shopkeeper of Bularati village in the sadar upazila.

Mujibur Rahman, president of Awami Swechhasebak League of Satkhira municipality unit, filed the case under Digital Security Act against Kamal and a female, Sohana Parvin, on Monday night.

Sadar police station sub-inspector Pradip Kumar Saha said Kamal was arrested from his house early Tuesday on charge of posting offensive comments about Awami League leaders on Facebook.

Primary investigation showed that Kamal used the Facebook account of Sohana Parvin, another accused in the case, SI added.
