DMP to provide security for carrying cash

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) would provide security services for people who will carry big amount of money to ensure the safety of cash in the city during the Holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

A statement, issued by DMP, urged the people to be more cautious in carrying cash or withdrawal.

It said selling, buying, business and cash transaction have increased centring the Holy Ramadan and Eid. On the other hand, there is an apprehension of increasing crimes like snatching and robbery, it added.

“Besides, the global coronavirus pandemic has put an impact on Bangladesh. For this, most of the roads of the city are empty. The miscreants could snatch money for your simple carelessness,” it added.

The statement urged the people not to carry big amount of money alone and to keep more trustworthy people while carrying a big amount of cash.

It also advised not to carry big amount of money sharing with anyone and carry the money in motorbikes or vehicles not in rickshaws.

The DMP urged people to use different roads if anyone needs to carry big amount of money regularly and be cautious on big notes. It also urged the people not to carry all money alone and to avoid empty or narrow road.

It advised people to be more cautious in traffic signal and traffic jam and to use such banks where CC cameras are available.

The statement also urged the people to be more cautious while using ATM booth and PIN number of bank cards.

It urged the people to use the police security in carrying big amount of cash.
