DSCC set to lockdown Wari from 4 July

Marking Wari area in the capital as 'Red Zone', Dhaka South City Corporation has decided to put it under lockdown for 21 days to contain the transmission of coronavirus, reports UNB.

The restriction will be effective from 8am on 4 July which will be in force till 25 July.

DSCC mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said this in a briefing after a meeting at Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday.

He said that the 21-day lockdown will be implemented till 25 July. A control centre will be set up there, booths will be set up for sample collection and there will be isolation system.

"Everything will be closed there," the mayor said.

However, pharmacies and grocery stores will remain open.

Arrangements will be made to supply daily necessities in coordination with the E-Commerce Association, said Taposh.

Earlier, the Dhaka North City Corporation put West Rajabazar under lockdown from 10 June to contain the spread of coronavirus.
