180 fresh dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

180 fresh dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours till Thursday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among them, 134 were hospitalised in Dhaka and 46 in other places, reports UNB.

As many as 572 dengue patients, including 467 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

On Sunday, this year's death toll from the mosquito-borne viral disease rose to 19 with one more death reported from Dhaka.

Among the total deaths, ten were reported from Cox’s Bazar and nine from Dhaka.

On 21 June, DGHS reported the first death of the season from the viral disease. This year, DGHS has recorded 5,117 dengue cases and 4,526 recoveries so far.
