Latifur and Shahnaz Foundation hands over oxygen cylinders to Feni hospital

The Latifur Rahman and Shahnaz Foundation has handed over five oxygen cylinders for coronavirus patients at the Feni 250-bed General Hospital. The cylinders were officially handed over to the hospital on Sunday morning.

Eminent businessman and chairman of Transcom Group, Latifur Rahman, passed away on Wednesday at his home in Cheora, of Choddogram, Cumilla.

Renowned pharmaceutical company Eskayef’s senior regional sales manager for Feni, Abu Yusuf, said that the cylinders had been handed over on behalf of the Latifur and Shahnaz Foundation, founded by the late chairman of Transcom Group, Latifur Rahman.

Resident medical officer (RMO) of the hospital, Md Iqbal Hussain Bhuiyan, told Prothom Alo that the hospital was in dire need of oxygen cylinders for patients with respiratory problems. Accepting the cylinders, he said these would be a great help for the patients. He appealed to other charitable persons and institutions to come forward in this manner to the assistance of the people. Ripon Nath, another RMO of the hospital, was present at the time.
