State minister for labour and employment Begum Monnujan Sufian on Thursday said the workers in the apparel sector cannot leave their workplace during the three-day Eid holidays, reports news agency BSS.

She urged the garment owners to pay 100 per cent Eid bonus of their workers.

At the meeting, it was unanimously decided by the owners and labour leaders to give three days of Eid holidays on 23, 24 and 25 May

The state minister made the call at the tripartite meeting of the government, owners and workers at the Sromo Bhaban (Labour Building) in the capital city, said a press release.

The meeting also decided that no worker can leave the workplace during the Eid holidays and the employers will pay the salaries for May within the first seven working days of June.
