UP vice-chairman suspended over relief irregularities in Tangail
The local government ministry has suspended a vice-chairman of Tangail sadar upazila for his alleged involvement in creating obstruction in relief distribution and assaulting a project implementation officer (PIO), reports UNB.
The punitive action was taken against Nazmul Huda Nabin. The local government division issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.

With this, a total of 72 public representatives, including 23 UP chairman, 45 UP members, one Zila parishad member, two municipality councillors and one upazila vice-chairman have been suspended since the beginning of coronavirus outbreak.
According to the notification, Nazmul Huda assaulted a project implementation officer (PIO) for not distributing relief materials as per his directions. He also issued death threat to the PIO.
